What is CARES?

​​

  • CARES is the first and only harness type Aviation Child Safety Device to be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an alternative to a car seat.

​

  • CARES is a belt-and-buckle device that works in conjunction with the regular airplane seat belt and provides young travelers the same level of safety as a car seat.

  • The BEST part......CARES weighs just 1-pound and fits into a 6-inch stuff sack!  It's easy, portable, simple to install, adjustable and usable on any window or center seat (with the exception of the emergency exit rows).

  • Return shipping must be paid by you (the renter) via 2-Day USPS Priority Mail in the self-addressed envelope that I will provide, (essentially, returned the same way as received).

  • Due to some great, constructive feedback, I now include a sheet of grip shelf liner w/all rentals.  Because the CARES lacks a crotch positioning strap, some children will slide/submarine down.  Placing the shelf liner on the airline seat prior to securing the CARES will help to properly position the child and prevent potential sliding/submarining.  

​

  • Email/phone support from a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Instructor.

​

  • Up to 3 CARES may be shipped (USPS Priority Mail) to the same mailing address with no additional shipping cost.

​

  • The standard rental period is for up to 21 days, including shipping time. A mutually agreed upon return date will be set prior to the initial shipping.  Late return fees will apply.  Please be considerate when returning the CARES.  Late returns may interfere with another family waiting for a rental.

  • Loss, damage and/or failure to return the CARES in the condition in which it was originally rented, will result in the full replacement cost of the CARES (currently, $74.99).

  • Plan ahead!  Fall and winter vacation dates are filling quickly.
